Why do you wish for Pet Therapy at your Event?
This is the description of the event I host monthly at the Weston COA: Meaningful Moments: Memory Cafe is a place where people experiencing changes in memory or cognitive function can find meaningful programming, friendship, and acceptance. You do not need a formal diagnosis to attend, and family members, friends, and professional caregivers are welcome too. Please join COA staff, guest presenters, and trained volunteers on the third Thursday of each month from 2:00- 3:30pm for conversation, refreshments, entertainment, and activities designed to bring joy and create connection in a safe and comfortable setting.
I hope to have Pets and People Foundation attend a Memory Cafe as I have seen the positive effect that animals have had on members with memory issues. I try to have an array of different entertainment for members in order for differing meaningful moments to be created for them and their caretakers while they are navigating their personal issues. Pets and People Foundation would be a perfect event to have involved in the Weston COA memory cafe.

Indoor space is a room that can hold 45 people comfortably. Outdoor area has seating for 16 people and under trees. It is likely that the indoor area will be used.

Have you considered how to promote this event?
We have a monthly newsletter that comes out that we send to every resident that is 60 years old or older in the town. I will place a summary of the event in there. This event is a Memory Cafe, so similar people come to all of the programming so I send what event is happening that month and request sign ups. I am open to having your logo and QR code as I can also create a flyer for more marketing/

Parking Arrangements
You can either take Alphabet Lane from School Street and follow the signs to the COA or enter the driveway in front of the Field School and bear left to the Community Center. There is parking spaces in front of the entrance to the COA and there is a lot in the back of the building with the same number of parking spaces. Limited mobility access and handicap spaces are in the same location. The distance from car to the building is not much, very short.
