About the Event

They have had therapy teams visit for the past 5 years! They would like CATS and DOGS to visit.

1. Location Description: BU beach is an open outdoor area near the Charles river of BU campus. There is shade, sun, water, lots of grass for standing and chairs throughout for sitting. Link to google map location we had in mind:

2. Other pet organizations attending: NO

3. Parking arangements: Parking for BU beach is on Bay State Rd and we will pay for the meters.  Parking for photonics center OR BU Beach is also available at Warren Towers Parking Garage, 700 Commonwealth Ave.  (We will pay for parking in garage)  10 minute walk to BU Beach. Walking to Photonics from the Warren Towers garage: turn left onto Commonwealth Ave, turn left at the second corner onto St Mary’s Street, we are on the left, #8.  Area map

4. COVID Protocol :    BU is 100% fully boosted community and has been since Feb. 4, 2022.  Students are tested weekly and wear masks in classrooms.  Guests are allowed. Updated COVID policy for BU

5. Pets & People Event notes:

  • Remember your ID badge and your dog in the vest with Pets & People patch. Cats are exempt from wearing a vest.
  • Always have a face mask with you at any event.  While protocols will be changing, it is important that all participants at Events feel comfortable and safe.  Mask guidelines for each event are listed on Event Details.
  • Be sure pet is clean, coat and teeth brushed and nails clipped.
  • Please remember our protocols state no pet interaction.  If teams interact with any other pets always watch each dog's reactions and be proactive.
  • Do not post pictures of any individuals you visit as a Pets & People volunteer team on your personal social media pages.
