We're back for a Spring Destress! This is a small pilot school, that last Spring had an MCAS destress event originating from the best student request ever! "Coregulating with an animal is a strong coping skill for many students and this event promotes this!!" DOGS only

About the Event

We were brought to Lyons Middle/High School by a student's fabulous petition.  Of course, the event was such a success, they have invited us back again!  Here's the original petition for a short, but great read:

1. Location Description:  The event will take place either in a classroom or outside. If inside, every classroom has 1 to 2 window AC units to keep our pups cool. 

2. Other pet organizations attending: No.  DOGS only.

3. Parking arrangements:  There is free parking on Beechcroft Street which is the front entrance. There is also parking on Oakland Street (back entrance).          There is a parking lot behind the school on Brock St.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/g4Zn6sfuJciPmR3y5

4. Current Protocols:  None except that staff will need to be present to supervise students.

 Pets & People Event notes:

  • Remember your ID badge and your dog in the vest/bandana with Pets & People logo.  
  • Always have a face mask with you at any event.  While protocols will be changing, it is important that all participants at Events feel comfortable and safe.  Mask guidelines for each event are listed on Event Details.
  • Be sure pet is clean, coat and teeth brushed and nails clipped.
  • Please remember our protocols state no pet interaction.  If teams interact with any other pets always watch each dog's reactions and be proactive.
  • Do not post pictures of any individuals you visit as a Pets & People volunteer team on your personal social media pages.
