About the Event

Dogs only

This is our undergraduate student reading day. We are seeking a couple of teams to visit between 11-3  Ultimately a visit could be for just an hour and we are flexible based on availability.

1. Location Description: The Student Center building "living room" or outdoor covered patio.  There is room to spread out if multiple teams visit.

2. Other pet organizations attending: It is possible that our embedded comfort dog Blue (handled by one of our university police officers) will make an appearance.

3. Parking arangements: There are a few parking lots adjacent to the building and we will work with university police for clearance for parking and the potential to reserve one or two spaces if possible.

4. COVID Protocol : We have a 97% vax rate and although here are no current restrictions, we can require students to mask to visit with the volunteers and also limit numbers to encourage distancing.

5. Pets & People Event notes:

  • Remember your ID badge and your dog in the vest with Pets & People patch. Cats are exempt from wearing a vest.
  • Always have a face mask with you at any event.  While protocols will be changing, it is important that all participants at Events feel comfortable and safe.  Mask guidelines for each event are listed on Event Details.
  • Be sure pet is clean, coat and teeth brushed and nails clipped.
  • Please remember our protocols state no pet interaction.  If teams interact with any other pets always watch each dog's reactions and be proactive.
  • Do not post pictures of any individuals you visit as a Pets & People volunteer team on your personal social media pages.
