The Scholarship Fund

The Stanley Wald Memorial Fund was established in memory of Stanley H. Wald, a longtime resident of Newton, MA, and the originator of The Pets and People Foundation. Stanley believed deeply in the principles of “people therapy through pets” and even into his later years would bring his own dog, a Corgi named Shadow, with him to facilities and share her with other folks like himself.

Stanley died in June 2009 and as a remembrance his family, along with the Pets and People Foundation, have created the Stanley Wald Memorial Fund from which an annual scholarship shall be offered to any Pets and People Foundation member who is attending college and/or furthering their education.

Donate to the Fund

Donations can be made in memoriam. Please indicate the dog or human for whom the donation is in memory. We are also happy to send an acknowledgement to another party as requested. Donations to the Stanley Wald Scholarship Fund will be set aside for use with the annual scholarship; donations to the general fund are used for covering the costs of running the Foundation.
