Pets and People Foundation awarded the
2017 William Ryan Community Service Award
by Acton-Boxborough Regional High School

Friday evening, June 2, 2017 the Pets and People Foundation was honored to receive the William Ryan Community Service Award during the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School graduation. This award was given to the foundation and its volunteers based on the many visits our therapy animals have performed during the past school year to help the students cope with some unexpected deaths.
The graduation ceremony focused on how the school had come together to support each other over the past year, and a significant part of that was the visits by our therapy teams. Kimberlee Coleman, her therapy dog Abby (complete with graduation cap), and I were there to accept the award from Dr. Glenn Brand, the superintendent.

This award would not have been possible without the efforts of our volunteers who share their animals with the public. I want to thank ALL of our volunteers for what they do on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to share their animals with others.

President Joel Wolff, volunteer Kimberlee Coleman, and Abby were at the ceremony to accept the award.
